Kelly Del Percio | TRANSPORTATION INTERMEDIARIES ASSOCIATION
TIA’S MEMBER SERVICES Division is tasked with the onboarding of new members. When strategizing how we can better serve TIA Members, we often focus on collecting data that can guide us in coming up with new ideas. We can look at a member’s company size, primary services and location, but this information is secondary to outreach with our members.
New members of TIA all have some similarities but are often vastly different. There are many varied motivations for becoming a freight broker, and for joining the Association. Some members are brand new to the industry and others have had years of brokerage experience.
Making these primary relationships with new TIA Members is fundamental to the Membership team’s mission. Just as we hope members learn from being a part of our Association, we learn from them each day.
Here are interviews from two new TIA Members!
Areo Trucking and Logistics LLC – Regular Member, Georgia
Areo Trucking and Logistics is a new brokerage based in Georgia. Owner Eric Jackson is a disabled service veteran who specializes in flatbed, step deck flatbed, and open deck freight.
With a background in engineering design support for nuclear and coal-fired plants, Eric understood the demand for resources to the power industry. With the desire to begin his own family business, he decided to look into the brokerage of freight.
Eric joined TIA because he felt it would help him market his business and be seen as a serious company. He is excited to utilize TIA Watchdog because it can prevent him from potentially hiring a risky driver.
One of Eric’s biggest achievements this year was obtaining his Disabled Veteran Business Certification. For the future, he wants to grow as a heavy haul transportation company, and to be able to hire other disabled veterans and minorities to his team.
Savant BPO – Associate Member, Colombia, South America
